A series of photographs taken by Dayanita Singh of the famous Bollywood choreographer, Saroj Khan, were made into a projection, with a carefully sequenced choreography by Mark Morris, who approached the images as a dance – a poetic movement of the still image.

Dayanita Singh is an artist whose medium is photography and primary form is the book.

Born in 1961 in New Delhi, Singh studied Visual Communication at the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad and Documentary Photography at the International Center of Photography in New York. She has published thirteen books including: Zakir Hussain (1986), Myself, Mona Ahmed (2001), Privacy (2003), and most recently, Museum Bhavan (2017) . Her works have been shown in several museums including TOP museum in Tokyo, MAST Bologna, and Art Institute of Chicago. She has also exhibited at the 2nd Kochi Biennale, Sydney Biennale, and the Venice Biennale in 2011 and 2013.
