A screening of ‘Return’ by the Hofesh Shechter Company. This film won the Cannes Film Award for the Best Dance Film in March 2023. For Shechter, the ambiguous title does not necessarily refer to a return from the dead, but "a way of bringing a person’s spirit back to life." The film includes material shot amidst the mysterious industrial architecture of the Wizemann site, which is very close to Eric Gauthier Dance’s rehearsal studio. For the soundtrack, Shechter drew inspiration from a concerto by Johann Sebastian Bach.
