Start the Presses: Practising Print Culture through the Magazine

The first Marg was published in 1946 and the first Seminar 13 years later, in 1959. Despite the prophesied death of print both publications have been unwavering in their mission to keep the presses busy. When it comes to the history and evolution of homegrown print publishing in India, both Marg and Seminar have pages of stories to tell. SAF and The Marg Foundation bring Shukla Sawant, Guest Editor (Readings on Modernism: From 75 Years of Marg), Naman Ahuja (General Editor, The Marg Foundation), Sarita Sundar (Independent Scholar/Writer) and Akila Seshasayee (Chief Designer, Toile Indienne) together for a conversation about print culture in Independent India.
