Gallery XXL and JOSMO announce a collaborative exhibition opening on December 12, 2025, coinciding with the Serendipity Arts Festival in Goa, to be held at the JOSMO Studio in Goa.
The exhibit will feature seven contemporary artists namely, Amogh Bhatnagar, DO, Hanif Kureshi, Harnoor Juneja, Khatra, Manuja Waldia, and ZERO, whose practices delve into the nuances of modern existence, locating fresh, critical meanings within the pervasive realms of popular culture and the ever-evolving urban environments that shape our daily lives.
This collaboration aligns with XXL and JOSMO's mission to offer affordable, accessible, and experimental art and design, rooted in popular culture which transcends socio-economic barriers. Embedding the works within JOSMO’s studio, the presentation challenges the formal engagement with art in gallery structures aiming for contemporary dialogue between art, design, and the viewer reimagining lived spaces.
The artists and their works draw from conceptual and aesthetic influences from street culture, color theories, and vernacular styles. The display synthesizes these influences, showcasing a cross-pollination of street aesthetics and populist expression across media, narratives, and symbols that permeate collective consciousness.
